Soul Kids

Children to be Ready, Equipped and Willing for all that God has called them to be and do

Rob Bubyer, Children’s Pastor

During the second half of 2022, we have seen a good number of children and young people attending Soul Food. We have enjoyed being a bigger group of sometimes of up to 18 children each Sunday. A variety of ages attend from 4 to about 14.

It was really exciting that we could put on two Sundays a month for the older ages which we have called Soul Youth. On the 2nd Sunday, the older children get to practise puppets with Mary Warren and Kezia Penn and on the last Sunday of the month they have a bible study session with sweets and hot chocolate! Look out for the Soul Youth report!

At our heart of Soul Kids and Youth, we continue with our vision based on Proverbs 22:6 that says; “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”. Although our groups have changed their names from the CREWS we still desire to partner with parents to raise Children to be Ready, Equipped and Willing for all that God has called them to be and do.

I love the sweets and the movie clips!

I like being together and playing after the service.

In Soul Kids, we continue to be blessed by a great team of people who help. We have recently looked at the topic of church and learnt that church is not just about the building but its also about people. We looked at things we do in church like communion and worship and how we all have different gifts to build up the body of Christ. Our last session looked at that church is for everyone and we are to invite our friends to church to meet Jesus.

The sessions have made me think about getting baptised.
