School Assemblies
Maintaining a strong link between school and the local church.
Rob Bubyer, Children’s Pastor
Every week Shaula Reilly and Rob Bubyer visit our local church schools in Shoscombe and Wellow. It has been a delight presenting the gospel through the theme of the term’s collective worships.
We base our biblical assemblies on the school’s core values of Creativity, Respect, Aspiration, Joy, Kindness & Resilience. Foe example, we have used the Sermon on the Mount, the Be-Attitudes something for us all to aspire to have and show in our lives. It is a great privilege to tell over 100 children each week the good news of Jesus.
Every week a member of the church outreach group leads Collective Worship at either Shoscombe Church School or St Julian's Church School, Wellow. These worship sessions link to our school values and support children to consider how stories from the bible and God's teaching can help us better live out our values. The children enjoy the stories, energy and songs of these worship times. These worship times also help to maintain a strong link between the school's and their local church.
