Toy Library re-opens for community use

A children’s Toy Library in Peasedown St John is now back up and running, following several months of closure due to the Covid pandemic.

The SJ’s Little Treasures Toy Library had been supporting 65 children and their parents each week before the lockdown with their large open social safe space, toy library, warm drinks and cake, and creative thoughtful and varied learning/play opportunities – all at St John’s Church.

St John’s Church Children’s Worker, Sarah Carney, said: “It’s great to be able to welcome children and their families back to the Toy Library each week.

The project enables users to have access to an extensive range of toys and books for an annual membership fee of just £5 per year!

Since it first opened in 2014, the Toy Library has supported so many families throughout the community. We set out a variety of toys and books which transforms the Church into a great area for play. There are vehicles, games, puzzles, instruments, dress-up, baby toys, outdoor toys and more.”

The Little Treasures Toy Library meets every Tuesday morning, 10am – 12 noon at St John’s Church, Church Road, Peasedown (BA2 8AA). All are welcome to attend.
