SJ’s Club
Seven years of fun and games at SJs club comes to an end
Sarah Carney
Sjs Club came to an end in December 2022 after seven happy years of serving our community through supporting working parents.
The club wholeheartedly focused on developing the fruits of the spirit in the children, as they learnt to show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
The club had a variety of different age children over the years and the numbers varied from term to term. With between six and twenty children attending at different times from a variety of primary school settings. The children received the very best care, supporting them with their individual development and creating activities which stimulated their minds and physical development. We offered crafts, creative play, role play, sports, and on special occasions we had really exciting events for the children. We supported a variety of charities, encouraging the children to understand how important it is to give to others less fortune than ourselves.
"Ben absolutely loved coming to after school club at St Johns. Such a nurturing environment and one which gave him opportunity to learn new crafts and skills. I thought it was great that he was able to spend time with different age-groups as I feel thats really important for communities. We are both really sad that he can’t go anymore (he often asks if he can)"

As the manager I had the privilege of working with a range of people over the years, Liam, Gillie, Sam, Meg, Jane, Jean and Sheila. As well as Rob Doble and Bob Goode visiting to support with music and Shaula visiting for some special events. Everyone who helped always came with a positive and kind attitude to encourage and care for the kids at club. I believe all who have been involved at club have been richly blessed by it and I give thanks for the privilege of that time shared in serving together.
