Update on our Registration with OFSTED
As you may be aware we have been going through the process of registering SJ’s After school club with Ofsted. This will allow the club to take pupils from their reception year upwards. The process has been very thorough as you would expect. The lady who visited from Ofsted was happy with the way the club was run but felt the church building itself wasn’t suitable for properly safeguarding the children. She was happy however with the church hall building so we will be relocating as of term 6. We are currently working on ensuring the space is used creatively to make a great space for your children to enjoy. The changes we are making as stated above will ensure your child is kept safe.
At SJ’s After School Club you can expect to enjoy a light homemade tea whilst having a good catch up with everyone in the group – sharing jokes and stories. You will get to do a different craft or cooking activity every session and there is always play dough and colouring available if you like to settle down. For those who are more active we have a large open space which we use for ball games, parachute games and dance ribbons. A fun, creative, caring after school club picking up from Peasedown St John Primary School and walking along to St John’s CHURCH HALL. Click here to see a lot more of what we get up to on our Facebook page.
NEW MEMBERS: Your first session is free. So if you want to pay for the whole term and get a session free, then you need to contact Rob to get the promotional code. Contact Rob on 01761 300410 or email email@example.com
Below are the various key features of the club:
Venue: St John’s Church HALL, Church Road, BA28AA. The venue provides a large, warm and friendly environment, where we hold our successful holiday clubs. There will be two adults who will collect your children from Peasedown Primary School and walk them to the church wearing hi-viz jackets and professionally risk assessed. It is only a few minutes walk from school to the club.
Days: 2 days a week consisting of Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Other days could be added if there was interest. Please so let us know if you are interested in other days. 01761 300410.
Time: 3.15pm – 5.45pm (2 and 1/2 hours)
Price: The cost for one afternoon (2 and 1/2 hours) will be £10 (which is £4 per hour). We would like people to pay online if possible. There are NO FEES to be paid on any orders placed.
Ages: The club is now open to all primary school children in Years Reception to Year 6.
Programme: We offer a fun and varied programme. This will include:
• A snack time – a snack of a sandwich/roll/wrap, fruit, crisps and drinks will be provided to help them through to dinner. We would observe all individual dietary requirements, as required.
• A fun sport/activity time – which will range from games like Mr Crocodile, various sports and our very own bouncy castle (mainly in the summer months).
• Chill out times – Which will include reading or watching age-appropriate films.
• Arts and crafts – having fun making various things.
The club is run by Sarah Carney and an additional helper. They will of course be fully vetted with all the legal requirements and checks in place. This will far exceed the government’s legal criteria. We will of course have all risk assessments, health and safety and food standards in place. We intend the Club to be both productive and fun, as well as safe and caring, running seamlessly between school and home.
